As Spring is in full swing and another Bank Holiday is just around the corner, our comms team have sprung into action this month and created some great campaigns to ensure engagement and activity remained high during April.
Here’s a round-up of our most recent campaigns:
Spring Clean prompt
On April 10th and 13th, we sent out a competition to all UK, Ireland, US and Canada networks offering members the chance to win a free full membership for the rest of Spring. To take part in this, members had to upload more photos to their profile and add more information to their page by answering questions on their personality and interests. This resulted in a 26% increase in photo submissions and a 20% increase in profile submissions.
ANZAC Day Offer
ANZAC Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand to honour those who fought at Gallipoli during World War 1. Between the 23rd and 25th of April, we offered 40% off full memberships to all members in the Australia & New Zealand territory to mark this significant calendar date. During this period, membership upgrades increased by 20%.
Freedom Day Free Read
To commemorate Freedom Day which is a South African public holiday celebrated on April 27th, we offered all basic members free access to the messages in their inbox. This allowed them to read and send messages for free between midday and 6pm on this date. This campaign successfully increased the number of peak members online by 15%.
Workers’ Day Offer
Between April 20th to May 2nd, all South African networks were offered 40% off all subscriptions to celebrate the South African holiday, Workers’ Day. This began in 1994 to celebrate the solidarity between working people and their need for fair employment standards. An offer code was provided which allowed members to gain discounted rates when upgrading their accounts. This generated a really positive reaction from members, increasing upgrades by 87%.
May Day Offer
To celebrate the May Day Bank Holiday in the UK and Ireland, between 29th of April and 3rd of May we offered a 40% discount off full memberships to all members in these networks. With most people being paid before the bank holiday, this resulted in a 36% increase in upgrades.
